Come on out to see, or help with, some Sidewalk Astronomy!
Two different weather forecasts are calling for a few showers until 5-6pm, partly cloudy until 7-8pm and mostly clear after that.

I hope to see you there!
Bring your telescope and help us show the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn to passers-by!

If you've never helped, or attended, one of these events then now is the time to find out how much FUN they can be.

There are few better ways to spend an evening than hearing the gasps of astonishment when people see the Rings of Saturn, the Moons of Jupiter, or Craters On The Moon for the first time.

Please meet at the west end of Spencer Smith Park, at the Compass Rose, near the restaurant and toy boat pool.

I'm going to head down and should be setting up at the Compass Rose about 7:30, or so.

I hope to see you there!

Same, I'm at Burloak and Lakeshore and it is heavy cloud at 7:30pm. On the plus side Enviro Canada is not predicting any rain. Best of success to those who go!

I just missed you tonight, Roger! My friends and I were arriving at Spencer Smith Park just as you were leaving. We stayed for a bit and the clouds cleared enough to get a good view of the moon, Jupiter, and Saturn with my binoculars. The kids were thrilled, and have made me promise to borrow a telescope from the centre to bring them stargazing on a clearer night  :D

Fiona, that's great! I'm glad you you were able to see the gas giants.
