<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto"><div>This year, we are running the AstroCATS program with the intent of training new people for key positions. Our plan is to create a new position that requires a three year commitment. </div><div><br></div><div>The first year, will involve being the AstroCATS floor manager. Basically greeting the venders and employing the volunteers and generally overseeing the activities over the 2 1/2 days of AstroCATS, from Friday afternoon to the close on Sunday. You will ensure the venders are setup and helped at breakdown. During the show you will ensure that everyone is happy and when a fire breaks out see to it that your team responds quickly.</div><div><br></div><div>Year two, is a transition to re-sign up the venders for the next year. The infrastructure to complete this task already exists. All one needs to do is to start emailing the venders list we have created and get the venders to commit to another year. This job is critical to ensure the success of the next show by signing up as many venders as possible. </div><div><br></div><div>The third year is the easiest, as show chairperson you will delegate all the show planning to your teams and ensure everyone stays on schedule. You basically give people jobs that come straight from your chairpersons instruction book, and follow up to ensure the show can be turned over to the show manager. </div><div><br></div><div>What I am looking for, is for one person to volunteer for this first assignment. An undertaking like AstroCATS can't happen forever, unless new people with new ideas follow us in this endeavour.
