We need a few good men and women to help out at AstroCATS 2016.
For our new members... what the heck is AstroCATS? Canadian Astronomy & Telescope Show. This is a bonafide "trade show", just like the Auto/Home/Boat/etc. show, except it's all about astronomy. Exhibitors from all over bring the stuff you only get to see in photos on a website unless you come to AstroCATS. We also have top-notch speakers and seminars. The event is the major fundraiser for our club. This will be the 4th annual event. The funds raised in the past few years is how we were able to add a 2nd telescope & mount (C14 Edge & CGE Pro mount), put a new steel roof on the observatory, motorize the roof, snow removal, etc, etc.
AstroCATS 2016 is a double special event because this year it is being held in conjunction with the RASC General Assembly which will be held in London ON at Fanshawe College. Most of the volunteer duties will be covered by RASC London, who is the host of the combined event, but we still need some Hamilton Club members to do a few special duties. Jobs like Raffle Ticket sales and Exhibitor “Valets”.
We need 10 people on each of Saturday and Sunday. The show is open from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and we’ll ask you to be there 30 minutes before and after the show hours. On Sunday, we may ask you to stay a bit longer to help exhibitors pack-up their booth.
For folks who want to stay for both days we have arranged for overnight accommodations.
