Come on out to see, or help with, some Sidewalk Astronomy!
Bring your telescope and help us show the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn to passers-by!
If you've never helped, or attended, one of these events then now is the time to find out how much FUN they can be.
There are few better ways to spend an evening than hearing the gasps of astonishment when people see the Rings of Saturn, the Moons of Jupiter, or Craters On The Moon for the first time.
Please meet at the west end of Spencer Smith Park, at the Compass Rose, near the restaurant and toy boat pool.
I'll be away on vacay, to all those participating, have fun!
I will do my best to be able to make it to both the August and September events.

I'll be there along with Ed Mizzi. Just had a quick peek outside and Jupiter along with four of its moons are visible. Also as a bonus, red giant Antares is in the vicinity. Saturn will rise a little later. Shaping up to be a great viewing night. Come out and say high to all the people who will be stopping by.
Just wanted to say that I had a great time last night at Spencer Smith Park. Lots of curious passers-by with many questions, along with oohs and awes when seeing Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon. We fought with clouds a bit but overall it stayed clear for the evening. And I was among a group of great volunteers, including Bob Prociuk, Erin Vassair, Eric Golding and Phil Gelsheimer (his first time doing sidewalk astronomy). I always find it super rewarding and enjoyable to participate in these events.
