You are welcome to bring your own telescope, binoculars, or try out the club's equipment: 16" Ritchey–Chrétien, 14" Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain, and a couple of Dobsonians (which you can borrow afterward through the club's loaner telescope program). If you just bought your first telescope, we can help you get started.
Remember to dress appropriately – as if it's 10 degrees colder than it actually is!
If the sky is not clear that night, watch for a notice on the Calendar postponing the event.
This sounds great, Roger. However, is the 16" ready to use, i.e. apparently there was a problem with the computer monitor? Thanks, Ed
Thanks for posting, Roger. The last time I was there with you, Ed, it worked. What happened?
Regardless, we can use the Dobsonians or binoculars, and simply navigate the night sky.

Please also note that there is a new facility that's been added to the Forum calendar...the ability to set reminders. Members, and Friends, of the Centre can click on the small icon on the left side of the calendar entry, and set a reminder which will be sent to the email that you use.
The sky is overcast with rain expected this evening. We will reschedule for February 26th.
After consulting another experienced member, we'll have to cancel tonight's viewing. Temperature is expected to drop to -10°C with wind chill and the cloud cover is on and off. It would be disappointing to get only a few minutes of patchy sky. The next night will be March 11th at 8 PM at the Observatory. I will post it as a new topic.
