You are welcome to bring your own telescope, binoculars, or try out the club's equipment: 16" Ritchey–Chrétien, 14" Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain, and a couple of Dobsonians (which you can borrow afterward through the club's loaner telescope program). If you just bought your first telescope, we can help you get started. Dress appropriately – as if it's 10 degrees colder than it actually is!
If the sky is not clear that night, watch for a notice on the Calendar postponing the event.
Friday night may be clear for observing. Keep an eye on this thread.
Looking good for the stars, planets, and karma to align for a great night? Forecast looks good, new moon, and it's Friday night!
I'll be there and if anyone wants to get some training on the Celestron equipment, just ask me!
Good stuff ... thank you.
Super time at the observatory. Thanks everyone! ;D
Jeff, I concur...it was a great night and getting to take a few photos was a bonus. Ed
Yeah I had a great night! I can't wait until the next clear night up there!
Check out the photos of Orion Nebula and Jupiter in the Images thread.
A big thank you, on behalf of those who came out, to Gary Bennett, for sharing his tips, stories and knowledge with us. As well, thanks to Gary for walking us through the set up and use of the C14.
