It's been less than a week and I have about 16 interested parties. The SkyTools astronomy "club discount" kicks in, as you may know, at two people. The first discount tier is 25% off, which is not bad. We're currently in the second tier, meaning a very respectable 40% off. I'm hoping to get a few more sign-ups to push us near or beyond the 25-person threshold where we will realise the maximum benefit of 50% off.
In terms of next steps, I will relay this interest, the "show of hands" information to the RASC national people. We have some logistics to sort with the vendor SkyHound and internal things like how to present this in the RASC e-store. I will keep you posted.
Overall, I'm hopeful. That we'll get some more people expressing their interest... And that national office will decide to proceed with this plan.
All that said, I thought I would hear from more people. Perhaps you can help in this regard: if you have not already done, please talk to fellow RASC members in your centre. I'm already considering re-running the "advert" in the next RASC Bulletin just to catch more eyes.
