Gary Colwell is organizing a work party to do some chores at the Observatory on Wednesday evening starting at 7:00. Afterwords we can do some stargazing! Yes, that is a work night, but too many escape for the weekend during summer, so weeknights work best for most.
Lawn mower, weed wackers, and maybe a chainsaw, are the tools of choice. I was there a week ago and the grass is almost tall enough to make bales of hay with. If you have a gas powered weed wacker or chainsaw, please bring it along. FYI, we have the lawn mower and a weed wacker, but more will make the work go faster. We will also hack down a few trees. Nothing that we need a "Paul Bunyan/Grisly Adams" for , just knock over a few that are the worst offenders blocking our view.
This work qualifies as "sweat equity" service towards your key-fee refund.
If you can make it, please reply to this post.
I'll be there.
I can bring a 14" chainsaw and some extra chains. It's electric, but I will bring a little generator set just in case it is needed for some far-off tree.
Lawn mower, too.
