I hope you all had a great summer! A new season awaits you at RASC Hamilton Centre
Just in case you missed the announcement, we are changing our tradition of "1st Thursday of the Month" for our September meeting. With the 1st Thursday being the day before the Labour Day weekend, combined with a new moon, we don't think we'll much of a turnout, so we've changed the date. So, for September only, we will meet on the 2nd Thursday (Sept. 8). The board meeting will be the week after that on September 15.
Our speakers for our September will be several of our members:
- Gary Bennett – Show & tell - new equipment added over the summer PLUS more to come.
- Gary Colwell – getting ready for the astronomy event of a lifetime – 2017 Solar Eclipse
- Andy Blanchard – A recount of his June trip to meet Stephen Hawking and other celebrities at the STARMUS festival in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
- Tell us about your summer astronomy highlights. Bring your photos and share your stories.
- Highlights of the 2016-2017 season ahead
See you all on September 8, 8:00 PM at the Royal canadian Legion, 79 Hamilton Street N., Waterdown, ON
I will not be able to attend the Sept. meeting, so is there someone who could take photos of the meeting events for the Orbit and our website?
Thanks
Ed
