Title: Lunar X visible
Post by: Roger Hill on November 09, 2018, 10:56:32 AM

The peak should occur at 2246 UTC, 17:46, or 5:46pm.

This is ideal for small telescopes and the camera on your phone.

Watch for more information in the December Orbit!

I'd like to move the Observatory Nights to 8 days after the monthly meeting, and if the Board approves, then this will be the Observatory Night, too.

Also, the Lunar "V" is visible at about the same time, but as the "X" becomes less distinct as the Sun rises on that portion of the terminator, the "V" remains visible.  So...it is possible we'll still be able to see the "V" as we gather at the observatory that evening.

What might be worthwhile would be to go to the observatory and see the "X", then someone go into Waterdown to pick up some pizzas.

Just a thought!
