If it is Clear: Guidance will be offered for people to work towards their Messier, Explore The Universe, or Luna, certificates.
Bring your own 'scope, and if you'd like some help with it, or have any questions, then this is the Night for you!

If you don't have a 'scope, then you may be able to borrow one of the Centre's 8" Dobsonians.  If you're currently borrowing one, this is the night to bring it back.

IF it is cloudy, then I will offer one of the NOVA topics:
•   Observing fundamentals
•   Motions of the Sky and Seasons
•   The Solar System
•   Telescope and Binocular Types and Using Them
•   The Moon and Eclipses
•   Charts, North, Distance, Position and Brightness
•   Star Designations, RA, Dec. and Deep Sky Objects

This is awesome Roger, I'll be marking all these dates in my calendar! I'm looking forward to earning my first RASC certificate

If it's cloudy (as expected), then I'll give a PowerPoint talk about Stars and what they are, along with a bit about the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram and stellar evolution, how we determine the age of star clusters.
If the Moon does peek out from between the clouds, then we'll have a look at the 8 day old Moon.
