[RASC Hamilton Special Announcement] Observatory Computer Being Replaced

Just an FYI ... the computer in the observatory is toast!

 

I am nearly finished building a new one. I am going to try and get it hooked
up before our meeting on Thursday.

 

In the mean-time, the scope can be used but must be manually pointed. How:

-          Turn on the mount

-          Take a mental note of the "Park Position" as you will need to
manually move it back to this position (approx).

-          Double click the joystick and let it go to "Home Position"

-          From here, use the joystick to slew to your target.

-          The mount should still track just fine without a computer.

-          When finished, use the joystick to move the mount back to "Park"
positon. It doesn't need to be exact, just close enough so that the roof can
close.
