If you are interested in becoming certified to use the club observatory equipment (OGC 16" and Paramount ME) come on out and have some fun! Operating the big 16" scope is easier than you might think. There are some things you need to know, but after using it a few times it is fairly intuitive. We suggest that you take a few minutes and review the Operation Manual in advance of the session. The full Manual as well as a Quick Reference Guide is on our website in the "RASC Member" section of the website. We also keep a complete printed copy inside the observatory (look for a binder). The quick Reference Guide is also affixed to the telescope pier for easy reference. NOTE: If you don't see the "RASC Member" section it means that you are NOT logged in OR you are not a Club Member (yet?). Schmidt will talk about the first discoveries of rocks and soils in Gale Crater and how they are evidence for past or modern environments on Mars.
