We will be having an AstroCATS planning meeting tonight at the observatory, but I expect we'll be done by 9ish and I plan on opening the roof and having some fun. Care to join me? May 22 OR Thursday May 23 Message-ID: <005f01ce55c0$136ee6c0$3a4cb440$@net> AstroCATS is less than 1 week away and we think we're going to put on a great show. We've added a few more exhibitors and sponsors in the past week and we are eager to see what goodies they bring. For those who have volunteered for duty at the show, we are holding an "Orientation" meeting on Wed. and Thursday. You do NOT need to go to both nights. We are doing 2 nights to help make sure you can work it into your schedule. "Orientation" simply means that you will learn what your job is as well as the jobs of other people so that we can all be "good ambassadors" when guests ask you questions. A Double-Header!!! Suggestion....if you're going to be there for 1, may as well make it 2 ! Tomorrow night is a special session for the Board of Directors and you are all welcome to attend (as are all of our board meetings). We will be hearing about upcoming changes to our bylaws. These changes are necessary to comply with changes to laws that govern all not-for-profit organizations. We are hoping that we can have a simple (quick) summary that lays-out how they will differ from the bylaws we have been operating under for many years now. Tomorrow night is also Astrophotography Night (this is the rescheduled date) and the weather looks promising. Clear skies or not, this meeting will take place. If we are fortunate we will be doing Planets using a webcam. If the skies have other plans we will demonstrate how to process webcam images. Believe it or not, planets are rather challenging. We expect to see surface details on our bright planets but our turbulent atmosphere throws us a curve.
