Our first meeting of the year is THIS Thursday September 3, 2015 at 8:00pm at the Legion in Waterdown! As tradition holds it...our first meeting is a time for the membership to tell us all about their astronomical adventures over the summer. If you have an event or pictures you have taken over the summer, or have a new piece of equipment you would like to share.... please let me know so I can slot you into the program for Thursday evening. Let me know how much time you will need....it should be a fun night getting back together and reviewing what we did over the summer.. See you all then! Thanks to the tireless efforts of Mark Kaye, we have new locks on all of our buildings! We are hoping to have copies made in time for our meeting on Thursday and are looking for a count of hands so that we have enough copies made. Who Qualifies For A Key? - Members in good standing (paid dues) who: o 19 years & up o Have been a Member for 1-year - Pay a refundable $25.00 Annual Fee - Have had training on the observatory equipment - Agrees to abide by the rules. Who gets a "refund"? Simple.. "Sweat-equity". Pitch-in when help is needed and you'll get your fee refunded. How do you get equipment training? We schedule a few "training" events throughout the year. Often those evenings coincide with a general/public observing session. Training is a 1-night course that takes less than 1-hour. We will attempt to have at least 1 training session before the end of September. If you would like a key, please contact me (gary at bendun.net ) no later than Tuesday evening (Sept. 1).
