It is a huge star party (camping with telescopes) and is ranked as 1 of the top-10 star parties in the World! Starfest is held at River Place Park in Ayton, ON (just down the road from Mt. Forest): http://www.nyaa.ca/index.php?page=sf.directionstostarfest Typical attendance is 800 and every type of telescope ever made will be there. And really big ones too... imagine, climbing up a 15' ladder to look through an eyepiece. You don't need to own a telescope. Those that do love to have company. Officially, Starfest begins on Thursday Aug 8, but some of us will be there tomorrow (Sunday). Thursday, Friday and Saturday is when the seminars start and the commercial exhibits open. Facilities are quite good with hot showers and full-sized swimming pool. Pre-registration is now closed but you can register on-site when you arrive. There are going to be at least 4 RACS Hamilton Centre members there. If you are interested in joining us, reply to this email and we can arrange a rendezvous. Hope to see you there! Hand made (not by me but a friend from a former club). Scope is in good shape and works well but I have upgraded to a bigger scope (go figure) and now this one needs a new home. The mirror is Orion glass as is the secondary. Helical focuser and it comes with a telrad. I have attached pics of the scope. I would like to get $350 out of it. I did some more mowing again today, and picked up parts for the Ryobi weedwacker. I did get it going for a while, but a couple bits needed to be replaced. Facilities are quite good with hot showers and full-sized swimming pool. Pre-registration is now closed but you can register on-site when you arrive. Hand made (not by me but a friend from a former club). Scope is in good shape and works well but I have upgraded to a bigger scope (go figure) and now this one needs a new home. The mirror is Orion glass as is the secondary. Helical focuser and it comes with a telrad. I have attached pics of the scope. I would like to get $350 out of it.
