RASC Hamilton Public Astrophotography Night at the Observatory

Hello all!

Many people have seen beautiful images of the night sky and have
wondered...."How can I take images like that?"... to some it is daunting and
seems way beyond their reach...but it is like the old saying..."How do you
eat an elephant?......one bite at a time.....

On Thursday February 28, 2013 at 8:00pm, come to the Observatory with your
camera and tripod to learn how you can image the night sky without a
telescope or expensive accessories!. This evening will introduce you to the
exciting world of astrophotography. In this presentation you will learn that
you can take beautiful images of the night sky using only your DSLR and a
tripod! The session will include describing the basics of astrophotography
and what camera settings to use, different lenses you can use for different
results, how to shoot the night sky, how exposure time affects your image
and more. If the evening is clear you will put what you have learned to the
test and take your first astro image!

If you are new to the hobby, or a seasoned veteran who has never imaged the
night sky this is for you.....or perhaps you need a refresher on the subject
...come on out!
