Hi everyone,

I thought you might like to know that starting this week, weather
permitting, Royal Botanical Gardens will be hosting a free lunch-time solar
viewing event., which we are calling "Solar Thursdays". We'll try this for a
few weeks to see if there is any interest.

I'll be bringing out my gear for this, and providing interpretation. Two
telescopes will be on hand: a Coronado 60 mm Solar Max II BF15 H-alpha, and
a Meade 125TB Maksutov-Cassegrain with a Mylar white light filter and a
Baader Solar Continuum green filter. We'll be setting up on the lawn right
in front of RBG Centre, 680 Plains Road West, Burlington, Ontario, from 12
noon to 1 PM.

Anyone who's interested is most welcome to come by. The weather forecast, so
far, is ideal.
