Yes, keys are FREE to ANYONE who gives-up their free time to host events, do
training, maintain equipment/landscaping, etc. Most of that is now done by
board members but we're looking for more "sweat-equity" partners.

I think Board members get one, too.  Although this may be covered in the
"sweat equity" proviso.

 

This is another good reason to join the Board, by the way.

We're looking forward to seeing you all this coming Thursday for the
kick-off to our new season.

 

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Mark Kaye, we have new locks on all of our
buildings! We are hoping to have copies made in time for our meeting on
Thursday and are looking for a count of hands so that we have enough copies
made.

 

Who Qualifies For A Key?

-          Members in good standing (paid dues) who:

o   19 years & up

o   Have been a Member for 1-year

-          Pay a refundable $25.00 Annual Fee

-          Have had training on the observatory equipment

-          Agrees to abide by the rules.

Who gets a "refund"? Simple.. "Sweat-equity". Pitch-in when help is needed
and you'll get your fee refunded.

How do you get equipment training? We schedule a few "training" events
throughout the year. Often those evenings coincide with a general/public
observing session. Training is a 1-night course that takes less than 1-hour.
We will attempt to have at least 1 training session before the end of
September.
