How often have you experienced  the Astronomy Gods being less than kind, especially after acquiring that shinny new toy! Cloudy skies, overcast, high humidity, RAIN...  There are many natural phenomena that can keep you from your chosen hobby by spoiling your "seeing".

We have a solution! It's called Armchair Astronomy and it's impermeable to any and all weather conditions. Armchair Astronomy is for everyone from beginner to seasoned amateur and it's loads of fun and here is how it works...

We get together once a month, on the first Monday of the month. The group meets at the Observatory for a couple of hours of discussions about anything and all things related to Astronomy! The subjects can range over a wide area from hardware to software, from optics to photons, from astrobiology to man's planned expedition to Mars!!! There are always a few "seed" subjects but after that the discussion can go anywhere, and it's fun.

Are you a do-it yourselfer? Armchair Astronomy is also a great place for show & tell. So bring your latest creation and show it to the group. You may get great feedback and maybe someone else would want one! You also get bragging rights.

We have access to a projector in the observatory meeting room so if you have interesting pictures or videos you would like to share, then bring them along. Even better if you have  pictures or video to share that you have taken with your own equipment. So if you want to talk telescopes, astrophotography, space travel, exo-planets, physics, whatever... and have a coffee with fellow members, why not come out to our Armchair Astronomy sessions.
