CAPS Astrophotography School May 6 & 7 – ½ price for members – seats available

We still have a few spots available for the Canadian Astro Photography School coming up in less than 10 days (May 6 & 7).

This is a world-class, 2-day seminar where you will learn, in 2-days, what would take years to learn on your own. CAPS is on par with several other international astrophotography workshops, but you would need to travel to new York City or California to attend those. This one is right around the corner in Milton, ON!

Course fee is ½ price ($ 175) for RASC Hamilton Centre Members. You will get hands-on training from experts and will easily save multiple times the cost of the course by knowing which equipment and software is the best for you.

There are 3 separate streams to choose from:
Astrophotography 101 – If you have ever been tempted to attach a camera to a telescope, this is the best place to start. You will learn about equipment and software tools, and you will come away with the skills to achieve amazing images.

PixInsight – This is all about processing the images you captured, using the most advanced (and surprisingly inexpensive) astrophotography software there is. It's called PixInsight and it was developed specifically for deep sky imaging. This is the same software used by professional astronomers.

Eclipse & Planetary Photography – The August 21 Solar Eclipse is only a few months away! This course will focus on imaging the planets, but will also have a segment devoted to capturing the Solar Eclipse.

Canadian Astro Photography School is an event hosted by your club... RASC Hamilton Centre. If you miss this one, you'll have to wait for a full year for the next one!

Gary,
Took the course and it was great! Attended with my son Kevin and we hope to put what we learned to good use! I was not aware that there was a special offer for Hamilton Members and did not see that anywhere, nor was I ever asked if i was a member. I would have certainly taken advantage of it especially since two of us were taking the course. Any chance on a credit for half the fee?
