[RASC Hamilton Special Announcement] Events This Week - Weather Permitting

Hi Gang,

 

We have 2 fun events at the observatory this week (weather permitting):

 

Wednesday 9:30 - Public Night

 

This is a fun event where we invite (through our local papers) the general
public out for an evening of stargazing. Anyone who has volunteered to help
out at past events will tell you that this is a really fun way to share your
knowledge of our hobby. You don't need to be an expert. Guests are equally
interested in hearing what the experience is like from a beginners
perspective.

 

Thursday 8:30 - Astrophotography Night

Member Gary Colwell hosts this event which is a series of seminars that
starts with the basics and progresses through the more advanced techniques.
Thursday will be a practical demonstration of the everything you learned
through the entire series. Even if you did not attend the earlier seminars
you will still find it a fascinating experience. If you get there early
enough you will see what it takes to unload your gear, set-up, Polar Align,
Focus, and capture a series of images.

 

Both of these events will be "weather permitting". We will make Go/No-Go
announcements a few hours before event start time.
