RASC Hamilton Solar eclipse 3 Nov 2013

Hi

The clouds as seen from the Burlington Waterfront were just about perfectly placed to prevent a view. I took several frames as the sun passed gaps (Nikon D5100 on Sigma 150-500mm telephoto with 1.4x teleconverter and mylar solar filter) and arguably saw a bite in the lower limb of the sun on several at the right times and places just after 7 AM. One (with interp as to possible location of the moon) is attached.

Hi, Colin...I was not successful.
I had to work Saturday night, and got home about 2:30am (EDT).
I relaxed on the couch and ... slept right through it. Woke up to ths sun streaming through the windows.
I hope to have better luck with next years Sunset eclipse. I may go back to the same place I used for the 2012 Transit of Venus.
Will you be at the meeting on Thursday?

It was a BEAUTIFUL morning - and had some modest success. Lots of low
cloud on the horizon made it tricky.
