RASC Hamilton NOVA - First session postponed for two weeks...

The first session of the New Observers to Visual Astronomy (NOVA)
course, scheduled for tomorrow evening (February 2nd), will be postponed
for two weeks.

 

The weather forecast for the next 36 hours indicates that Monday evening
will be clear, but there is a very good chance that the observatory
parking lot will not be plowed out.  Further, while driving conditions
on major roads should be fine by 7:00 - 7:30pm, but there are some
country roads that have to be navigated, as well as the side roads that
may still make for a tricky drive.

 

The forecast that I'm looking at indicates that up to 30cm of snow may
be dumped on Hamilton, Oakville and Burlington, with Milton and
Flamborough expecting  about half of that.

 

Astronomy is a hobby.  It can be fun, thought provoking and
awe-inspiring, but it's not worth the risk of an accident.

 

The reason for the two week delay is because of my work schedule.  

 

I hope this does not cause too much of an inconvenience, and I look
forward to seeing everyone on Monday, February 16th.
